2 min readABC has yet to reveal the men who will be vying for Joan Vassos’ attention on The Golden Bachelorette. The dating competition is slated for the fall TV schedule and has fans excited. The excitement grew a bit more recently. This week, rumors began swirling that Mark Anderson, the father of the most recent The Bachelor winner, Kelsey Anderson, would appear as one of Vassos’ suitors. While the rumors have not been confirmed, Anderson’s casting wouldn’t be the first time a Bachelor Nation parent appeared later as a contestant.
Kelsey Anderson’s father, Mark Anderson, could appear on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
Mark Anderson, Kelsey Anderson’s father, became big news when he appeared during The Bachelor’s Hometown episode. Anderson charmed fans as he talked about his life and his marriage. While Mark was never supposed to be a focal point, he certainly captured the hearts of fans, many of whom hoped he would become the next The Golden Bachelor lead. That might not be happening just yet, but Reality Steve predicts fans of the franchise will see Anderson on Joan Vassos’ upcoming season of The Golden Bachelorette.
Mark Anderson has not commented on the rumors, and neither has ABC. Still, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him pop up in the competition. While fans initially thought he’d be perfect as a future lead, having him join the franchise as a competitor, especially for Vassos’ season, makes a good bit of sense. Anderson and Vassos seem like a good match on paper. Unfortunately, their long-term compatibility is questionable. Anderson and Vassos, if they were to hit it off, likely would run into the same problem that Gerry Turner and his winner, Theresa Nist, ran into. Anderson lives in Louisiana, while Vassos is set on staying close to her family in Maryland.
Patty James was the first The Bachelor parent to join the franchise
While Mark Anderson’s involvement in The Golden Bachelorette is far from confirmed, it wouldn’t be that surprising. In fact, Anderson wouldn’t even be the first Bachelor Nation parent to appear on the dating competition. Patty James, the mother of the season 25 The Bachelor lead, Matt James, was the first parent of a former contestant to appear on the series.
Patty James appeared on The Golden Bachelor as one of 22 women vying for Gerry Turner’s affection. She was sent home during week 1 of the competition, shocking viewers. While James and Turner didn’t really connect during the initial meet-and-greet, fans hoped she’d stick around for a bit longer. They had grown fond of her during her son’s season of The Bachelor.
James doesn’t appear to have any plans to get further involved in the franchise, although she remains active on Instagram. She mostly shares photos of her family’s outings.
